When the BlackFog client is running some users report the message “Protection Inactive” below the Network tile. This means that the underlying service “Privacy Service” is no longer running. There are several reasons why this can happen.
Firstly, some security applications can disable BlackFog when it is performing a privacy clean. You can minimize this impact by using the standard operating system delete instead of the DoD level wiping in the Forensics options as shown below. This will ensure there is no file overwriting taking place and therefore prevent the service from being stopped.
Secondly, you can change options on other security tools to whitelist BlackFog Privacy. Some good examples include Trend Micro and AVAST Anti-virus software.
