Cheyenne, Wyoming, Jan 12, 2021. BlackFog, a leading provider of Data Privacy and Data Security solutions, today announced that they have partnered with Evolve, the largest cybersecurity insurance specialist in the United States. Recognizing the need to offer both ransomware prevention and insurance, BlackFog will enable policy holders to assess their current exposure to cyberthreats and mitigate the risks associated with ransomware before it can cripple the organization.
Through this new partnership, Evolve policyholders will be eligible to enroll up to 25 of their company devices to scan for pre-existing ransomware, malware, and other unauthorized device access. At the end of the ransomware assessment period policy holders will receive a detailed report highlighting existing ransomware threats and vulnerabilities in their IT environments. Unlike other solutions on the market, BlackFog’s unique approach to data privacy and security doesn’t focus on protecting the perimeter. By focussing on data exfiltration and monitoring, detecting and preventing the unauthorized transfer of data in real-time BlackFog is able to prevent cyberattacks including ransomware.
“2020 saw an exponential rise in the number of ransomware attacks globally and in 2021, it is estimated that businesses will be hit by ransomware every 11 seconds at a cost of $20 billion. As a leading cyber insurance specialist we recognize the importance of helping to protect our customers from this threat. BlackFog’s technology is game changing and their unique approach to preventing data exfiltration will provide unrivalled ransomware and cyberattack defense for our customers,” commented Michael Costello, Principal and Co-Founder, Evolve.
“With the global cybersecurity insurance market expected to reach more than $20 billion by 2025, this is a very exciting partnership for BlackFog,” commented Dr Darren Williams, Founder and CEO of BlackFog. “Ransomware grew seven-fold in 2020 and we anticipate much higher numbers for the year ahead. Through this partnership we look forward to protecting Evolve’s policyholders from this significant threat.”
About BlackFog
BlackFog is the category-defining vendor in anti data exfiltration (ADX). Founded in 2015, the company invented ADX on the thesis that the endpoint is the only control point capable of stopping data from leaving an organization, an architectural bet that has now been validated across three exfiltration vectors: ransomware, shadow AI, and autonomous AI agents. BlackFog’s endpoint-native platform protects more than 500 enterprises, government agencies, and critical infrastructure operators worldwide.
The company is the publisher of the annual State of Ransomware report and the BlackFog/Sapio Shadow AI Research, the most-cited primary research in the category. BlackFog’s recognition includes the teiss Awards 2026, the AI Excellence Award 2026, the Cybersecurity Excellence Awards 2026, and the Cybersecurity Breakthrough Award.
