Error applying policy when starting BlackFog

When starting BlackFog Privacy some users have reported an error applying policy. The error states that the Policies cannot be applied due to an error. This error is the result of a damaged policy file on your machine. To resolve this problem you need to navigate to the following directory:

c:\windows\system32\grouppolicy\machine

Next, delete the file “Registry.pol” and restart your machine. Windows will recreate the default system policy after reboot and you will see that the error will no longer be present when viewing the BlackFog log file.

If the system does not re-create the policy for you. You may also recreated them on the command line. Open the command prompt in admin mode and type the following commands:

RD /S /Q “%WinDir%\System32\GroupPolicyUsers”

RD /S /Q “%WinDir%\System32\GroupPolicy”

Reset group policy
