What is Prompt Poaching?

A large prompt poaching campaign uncovered by security researchers involved two malicious Chrome extensions that compromised more than 900,000 users. The extensions impersonated legitimate AI productivity tools and were distributed through the Chrome Web Store. 

Once installed, the extensions secretly extracted ChatGPT and DeepSeek conversations along with browsing activity and sent the information to attacker-controlled servers. The stolen data potentially included:
